El Invernadero is an excellent Spanish restaurant situated in the prestigious Calle Serrano, one of Madrid’s most exclusive streets. Part of the Hotel Petit Palace Embassy, the restaurant is housed in a beautiful naturally lit terrace (Invernadero means glasshouse) and is tastefully decorated with modern artwork and lots of glass. It is an ideal place for those shopping in the nearby boutiques of Gucci, Dior, Versace etc to stop for lunch, and is also very popular amongst the business executives working in this area, where corporate lunches are very much the order of the day in the restaurant’s private dining room which caters for up to 12 people. The menu is traditional Spanish with only the best quality produce on offer, such as first rate Iberian cuts, smoked fish, duck and fresh grilled vegetables. The specialty of the house is the baby squid with rice. Desserts are all home made and include apple tart and a variety of cakes.
